Thomas F. Blackwell Memorial Award: The fifth annual Thomas F. Blackwell Memorial Award was presented to Professor Louis Sirico of Villanova Law School at the 2007 AALS annual conference in Washington, D.C.

Fifth Annual Golden Pen Award: The Legal Writing Institute presented its seventh Golden Pen Award to California's Plain-Language Jury Instructions and Justices Ronald M. George, Carol A. Corrigan, and James D. Ward. Pictures and more Golden Pen news are available on our Golden Pen Award page.

ALWD/LWI 2007 Survey of Legal Writing Programs - A record number of law schools responded to the 2007 joint survey, co-sponsored with the Association of Legal Writing Directors. The results of the 2007 survey as well as the results of the surveys from previous years can be found here.

Syllabus Bank Now Open: LWI now has the beginning of an on-line syllabus bank added to its list of Publications. Thanks to the many contributions of legal research and writing teachers and law librarians, we have over 40 advanced course syllabi that can easily be accessed and downloaded (in Word). Click here for the Syllabus Bank.

You'll find the 40+ advanced syllabi arranged by course type, then identified by teacher and law school. We have many advanced legal writing syllabi, advanced advocacy syllabi, even 10 advanced research syllabi, and a few other types, too.
