Teaching Bank MembershipOn April 14-15, 2023, Texas Tech University School of Law and the University of Houston Law Center will co-host the renewed Lone Star Regional Legal Writing Conference in Lubbock, Texas. The conference will travel to Houston in April 2024.
We see legal writing as the tie that binds. Good writing skills mean better analysis, and better analysis translates into higher exam scores, improved bar passage, winning advocates, and successful practitioners. With this in mind, we are restarting Lone Star to provide a forum where those of us engaged in the profession of teaching law can become better at teaching these most critical skills.
Lone Star thus invites presentation proposals in the areas of legal writing, legal research, advocacy, pedagogy, and other related topics. We are interested in hearing from those who teach law, full- or part-time, and anyone interested in teaching law. Sample topics might include techniques to improve legal writing instruction in the 1L legal writing course, but also collaborative efforts among faculty members in areas such as these:
In addition to conference presentations, Lone Star will offer a variety of social activities. April is a wonderful time of the year in West Texas, and we hope to see you here.
