Assistant Clinical Professor of Law

University of Idaho, College of Law (Boise Location)

THE UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO COLLEGE OF LAW seeks to hire a full-time, entry-level clinical faculty member to teach legal writing courses at its Boise location. The position is an academic-year appointment with faculty voting rights and associated faculty governance responsibilities. The faculty member will teach two sections of first-year legal writing each semester and will work collaboratively with other legal writing faculty to develop the course curriculum and major writing assignments. The faculty member will also mentor and advise students and participate in university service and outreach activities. Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited school or the equivalent; a distinguished academic record; at least three years of post-J.D. practice, clerking, or teaching experience; demonstrated excellent legal research and writing skills; and a record of excellence or related experience in teaching and in creating a safe, welcoming, and dynamic learning environment of belonging for all students. Preferred qualifications include successful completion of the bar exam in at least one U.S. state and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
