LWI's Listserv (LWIC)

Our listserv, Legal Writing Institute community (LWIC), is a closed listserv.  It is intended to provide a forum in which scholars and teachers of legal writing can discuss topics in their field. Professional teachers of legal writing are eligible to join the group.  Included within that category are current, former, and aspiring teachers of legal writing in law schools and other academic institutions as well as lawyers who teach legal writing as part of their business or practice. 

LWIC can be accessed through user email (by sending messages to lwic@groups.mobilize.io), by going to https://lwic.mobilize.io, or via mobile app (downloadable for free at your app store).

How to Send or Post Messages:

Messages can be sent directly from email or posted while in the app. From your email, you can post to the lounge (our main discussion group) and any subgroup using the following email addresses:

Lounge: lwic@groups.mobilize.io

Congratulations subgroup: lwic-congratulations@groups.mobilize.io

Off-Topic Discussions subgroup: lwic-off-topic-discussions@groups.mobilize.io

Job postings:

Please post job openings under "Opportunity." We strongly encourage you to use the Job Disclosure Form when posting. The form is required to post on the website.

Managing your LWIC Account:

Subgroups:

All members will be automatically added to the main discussion group and all sub-groups. If you do not wish to receive notice of messages posted in any of the subgroups, change your email settings (see below). You may also join or leave a subgroup at any time.

Delivery settings:

You can set email notification preferences both for the main group and each sub-group. To change email settings in the app, click on your photo (or account icon) in the top right corner, click settings, and then click email settings. You can then set individual preferences for each group and general preferences that apply to all groups.

From email, click on the link at the bottom of any message to update your notification preferences.

Change email address: 

To change your email address, click on your photo (or account icon) in the top right corner of the app, click settings, and then click account settings.

Reset Password:

To reset your password, click on your photo (or account icon) in the top right corner of the app, click settings, and then click account settings.

Leave the community:

If, at any time, you wish to leave the community (what we think of now as unsubscribing), you can easily do this yourself. In the app, just click on your photo (or account icon) in the top right corner, click settings, and then click account settings. Scroll down and click the button to close your account.
