The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law invites applications for one full‑time clinical faculty appointment to begin July 1, 2025. The individual selected would:

  • receive an initial three‑ or five-year appointment subject to long‑term contract renewal, compliant with ABA Accreditation Standard 405(c), with a nine‑month annual workload;
  • work alongside other faculty in UNC Law’s Writing and Learning Resources Center, which operates a two-semester, six-credit, first‑year legal research and writing program (“RRWA,” for Research, Reasoning, Writing, and Advocacy) and hosts UNC Law’s Director of Academic Excellence, Professor O.J. Salinas;
  • teach, per semester, either two seminar‑sized sections of RRWA or one RRWA section plus an upper-level course likely focused writing or bar preparation; and
  • serve on faculty committees and participate in faculty governance.

 Candidates must have the following:

  • a J.D. earned with an outstanding academic record;
  • bar admission plus either practice or clerkship experience; and
  • willingness to work collaboratively with fellow professors, particularly in teaching RRWA.

Also valuable is experience in teaching, counseling, or academic‑support work.
