Lecturer in Law
The Indiana University Maurer School of Law is seeking applicants for at least two full-time Lecturers positions to teach the first-year J.D. course in legal writing and research, with the possibility of teaching courses across Maurer’s other degree programs (including our LL.M and new Master of Legal Studies programs). Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in any field, a Juris Doctorate or foreign equivalent, at least two years of experience practicing law, and a strong academic record. Applicants must also have excellent writing skills, the ability and desire to work collaboratively on an established team, a strong interest in teaching legal writing, and a sensitivity to the needs of beginning law students. Initial appointment can be renewed with the possibility of promotion and a long-term contract after six years. Salary range, depending on qualifications and experience, begins at $85,000 for a 10-month appointment. The position has an expected start date of August 1, 2026.
