Legal Writing Lecturer

The Indiana University Maurer School of Law is seeking applicants for appointment as a full-time Lecturer to teach two sections of the first-year course in legal writing and research beginning with the 2023-2024 academic year. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in any field, a Juris Doctorate or foreign equivalent, at least two years of experience practicing law, and a strong academic record. Applicants must also have excellent writing skills, the ability and desire to work collaboratively on an established team, a strong interest in teaching legal writing, and a sensitivity to the needs of beginning law students. Initial appointment can be renewed with the possibility of promotion and a long-term contract after six years. Salary range, depending on qualifications and experience, begins at $72,000 for a 10-month appointment. The position has an expected start date of August 1, 2023.
