Associate Professor of Law, Legal Practice

Georgetown University Law Center seeks to hire a full-time faculty member to teach in its first-year Legal Practice Program. The position starts July 1, 2026. The faculty member will teach two sections of Legal Practice. Each section has approximately 23-25 students and meets two hours per week. Legal Practice Faculty at Georgetown also teach a two-hour weekly seminar with six law fellows, upper-level students who serve as teaching assistants for the first-year students. Professors are responsible for selecting their own texts, designing course materials, assigning student grades, and supervising law fellows. 

Candidates must have superior academic records and expertise in legal research, writing, and analysis. Three years of professional experience beyond law school and teaching experience are strongly preferred. Applicants should include a letter of interest, a CV, a list of three references, a writing sample, and (for more recent graduates) a law school transcript. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
