Assistant Professor of Legal Writing
POSITION DETAILS
The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University invites applications for an opening for an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing. This is a full-time faculty position with a two-year contract, commencing in the Fall of 2025. Upon successive renewals, this position could lead to eligibility for presumptively renewable five-year contracts. Scholarship is encouraged, though not required, and Legal Writing Faculty are eligible to receive summer research stipends.
Applicants must have:
- a J.D. degree;
- Bar admission in any U.S. jurisdiction; and
- Demonstrated excellence in legal research, writing, analysis, and oral communication skills.
Hofstra is particularly interested in applicants with previous experience teaching legal writing, although this is not mandatory.
