Assistant/Associate Teaching Faculty

Mitchell | Hamline School of Law

Friends and Legal Writing Colleagues:

We’re hiring for multiple LRW positions at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.

At full capacity, we have an 11-person team dedicated to teaching our two semester 1L legal writing course. For 2024-25, we have several openings and will be looking for both new and experienced teachers.

We’re located in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, yet many of us get to teach students located everywhere because of our blended learning program.  We have full and part-time programs, in-person day and evening options, and our innovative blended learning program which mixes asynchronous education with low residency in-person stretches at two points in the semester.

The rich life and work experiences of many of our students, the majority of whom are second-career students, make our classrooms especially interesting. Most are also first-generation law students (91%), many are the first in their family to go to college (35%) and we have an incredible cohort of students representing 14 Native American Tribes. The student population is an incredible opportunity to make a difference.
