The Teaching Bank is an online resource center. It includes writing problems and exercises, syllabi, grading rubrics, teaching ideas, and other materials. Access to the Teaching Bank is professional teachers of legal writing.
LWI has nearly 3,000 members. Members represent all ABA-accredited law schools in the United States as well as law schools in other countries. LWI members also come from undergraduate schools and universities, the practicing bar and the judiciary, and independent research-and-consulting organizations. Anyone who is interested in legal writing or the teaching of legal writing may join LWI.

Teaching Bank MembershipJoin us on Thursday, May 21, 2026, and for the Scholars Forum on Friday, May 22, at Fordham Law School in New York City for a free, two-day event featuring engaging presentations on legal writing pedagogy, the NextGen Bar Exam, Generative AI, and other timely topics shaping legal education and practice.
Fordham Law School will host the 2026 Biennial Empire State Legal Writing Conference on Thursday, May 21, 2026, and the Scholars Forum on Friday, May 22. This free regional conference brings together legal writing faculty and colleagues for a day of thoughtful discussion, practical ideas, and timely presentations.
Sessions will address a wide range of topics, including teaching pedagogy, the NextGen Bar Exam, the impact of Generative AI on legal practice and the classroom, and much more.
